Martin Shotbolt
Director and Psychological Therapist
In addition to holding a master’s degree in Management Development and Social Responsibility, Martin is a qualified Psychological Therapist, having trained as a High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) in a UK based NHS Mental Health Trust.
Martin has over 25 years’ experience of working with young people and adults with complex needs in many settings and environments.
Martin holds adult teaching qualifications and is an approved Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) Lecturer. Martin is currently lecturing at Highlands College in Jersey delivering workshops to students studying on the Year 2, Level 4 Counselling and Therapeutic Skills Programme.
Martin has twenty years’ experience as a consultant and trainer supporting a wide variety of organisations ranging from large NHS Trusts, Children’s and Adults Residential Services, Education, Fostering Services, Domiciliary and Home Care providers.
Martin is a member of the British Association for Cognitive & Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP) and holds National Accreditation with them. BABCP is the lead organisation for CBT in the UK and Ireland.
Martin also holds certification in the teaching of Mindfulness and has practiced Transcendental Meditation for more than 25 years. He is currently expanding his work involving Animal Assisted Activities and Therapies.
Martin is a qualified EMDR therapist having trained with the European EMDR Academy.
Martin is also a qualified Brainspotting Therapist having completed both Phase 1 and 2 training.
Martin provides cross modality clinical supervision to therapists and is qualified in advanced clinical supervision skills approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
